First Results From the SCM Search?Coil Magnetometer on Parker Solar Probe

نویسندگان

چکیده

Parker Solar Probe is the first mission to probe in situ innermost heliosphere, revealing an exceptionally dynamic and structured outer solar corona. Its payload includes a search-coil magnetometer (SCM) that measures up three components of fluctuating magnetic field between 3 Hz 1 MHz. After more than years operation, SCM has revealed multitude different wave phenomena wind. Here we present overview some discoveries made so far. These include oblique sunward propagating whistler waves are important for their interaction with energetic electrons, observation signature associated escaping electrons during dust impacts, component slow extraordinary modes type III radio burst events, more. This study focuses on major observations date, including description instrument lessons learned.

The Solar Neutrino Problem after the first results from Kamland

The first results from the KamLAND experiment have provided confirmational evidence for the Large Mixing Angle (LMA) MSW solution to the solar neutrino problem. We do a global analysis of solar and the recently announced KamLAND data (both rate and spectrum) and investigate its effect on the allowed region in the ∆m − tan θ plane. The best-fit from a combined analysis which uses the KamLAND rat...

First results from the CERN axion solar telescope.

Hypothetical axionlike particles with a two-photon interaction would be produced in the sun by the Primakoff process. In a laboratory magnetic field ("axion helioscope"), they would be transformed into x-rays with energies of a few keV. Using a decommissioned Large Hadron Collider test magnet, the CERN Axion Solar Telescope ran for about 6 months during 2003. The first results from the analysis...

Cluster as a wave telescope – first results from the fluxgate magnetometer

The four Cluster spacecraft provide an excellent opportunity to study spatial structures in the magnetosphere and adjacent regions. Propagating waves are amongst the interesting structures and for the first time, Cluster will allow one to measure the wave vector of low-frequency fluctuations in a space plasma. Based on a generalized minimum variance analysis wave vector estimates will be determ...

the effect of traffic density on the accident externality from driving the case study of tehran

Solar wind-induced atmospheric erosion at Mars: first results from ASPERA-3 on Mars Express.

The Analyzer of Space Plasma and Energetic Atoms (ASPERA) on board the Mars Express spacecraft found that solar wind plasma and accelerated ionospheric ions may be observed all the way down to the Mars Express pericenter of 270 kilometers above the dayside planetary surface. This is very deep in the ionosphere, implying direct exposure of the martian topside atmosphere to solar wind plasma forc...
